Yahoo’s Doug Cutting, the man who helped create Hadoop which is the same technology behind Cloudera, the startup he will be working for. Sounds quite obvious and he will be working as an architect for the firm in September. Now was this action a retaliation to the search deal with Microsoft? Definitely not and which is something Cutting himself thought many would think. That’s just one of the many who have willingly left the search firm with reports of more cuts coming in for the 400 or so people in its search team. Many would be hired by Microsoft but an even bigger number will have to prepare their CVs for a new job. To be honest, Yahoo appears to have a very high level of tolerance when it comes to execs leaving the company. Of course there is nothing it can do if someone says they are done with it, but still doesn’t it mean that it will gradually be left with no one who has given the web entity years of dedication?
