DotSpots finally releases its Annotation Platform for all

Sardar Mohkim Khan

After launching last year, the annotation service DotSpots is making news again as it launched its platform to the public. The platform lets users annotate any web page, be it one particular quote or the entire page, comment or share content with friends across the social networks like Twitter, FriendFeed. The idea is to promote citizen journalism, since it lets you comment on a particular passage of the post instead of the entire post. The comments are threaded so it helps you build up conversations around each. The startup is quite interesting, though its founder and serial entrepreneur, Farhad Mohit hasn’t devised a business model but its commenting system has the potential to grow into a major commenting platform and transform how readers interact on pages.
