Those of you who were desperately missing the feature of using your iPhone or iPod Touch as storage device, just like the previous models did can do so now with DiskAid. The app lets you plug in your device to the system, start the app and begin transferring files. This means that users at last have the ability to store important files and use their iPhone/iPod Touch as a storage medium, the only draw back (just like it was in the previous models) is that users cant play these files.

Now do so? There have been many applications that have done this, for both Mac and Windows, for the past year or so.

We aren’t talking about ones for the Jailbreak. and how can you have an app for the iPhone 3G since last year, though it was just launched a few months back. I guess you are mistaken here.

There are several applications that were used mostly in the jailbreak community that would actually work perfectly on unjailbroken devices. There have been many not like that also, like http://ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/ and http://i-funbox.com/. Any of these, even those created before the iPhone 3G came out, supported the iPhone 3G because it uses the same AFC protocol the original iPhone and both iPod touch generations do.
