Digital Music Sales looking beyond Apple

The digital age must have given a massive boost to digital music sales but the current growth has begun showing signs of a steady drop. The revenue for the current quarter rose by 28% and amounted to $167 million and the digital sales participated with 18% in Warner’s $858 million sales for the year. There isn’t much t base this decay on one particular reason but more or less it appears that the trend of digital sales is pretty much associated with Apple’s products. I mean it’s pretty obvious that a major sale off of digital music is made at the time of buying a new iPod, people do purchase music now and but that doesn’t involve the amount they do buy first time up.

What I think is that record companies will eventually expand digital sales via more options. These may include other mobile devices or digital music stores like Amazon.
