One of the most poplar social news site, Digg has raised whopping $28.7 million in Series C Venture Round. The round was led by Highland Capital Partners with existing investors Silicon Valley Bank, Greylock Partners and the Omidyar Network. Its indeed a big day for Digg and the funding will act as a catalyst in accelerating some under development programs which includes new feature development, international expansion, investment in development of infrastructure and hiring new people to cater the needs of customers.
The implementation of new features and the goal to expand Digg globally are introduced by considering feedbacks and suggestions from the users. According to Jay Adelson, CEO Digg, the company serves over 30 million unique users per month and half of them resides outside the US.
