Laptops exceed sales of desktop computers as a site reports that the share of notebooks shipped in the U.S. this year was up by a high percent. By the end of the fiscal year (September 30), the figure amounted to 9.5 million units. According to David Daoud, an analyst at global market intelligence firm, IDC:
“What you have is massive numbers of students going back to school and they tend to shift the market one way or another, and they shifted enormously toward laptops as they went back to school.”
