DEMOfall 08: YouGotPhoto ? Just send it to a Digital Photo Frame

yougotphoto-thumb DEMOfall 08: YouGotPhoto ? Just send it to a Digital Photo Frame Everyone of you must have digital photos spread over the web across different services like Photobucket, Flickr, Facebook Photos and the likes. The only exception to this might be the fellows managing McCain’s campaign. Needless to say that the pervasiveness of digital photos presented a need for a service or tool to somehow send these photos to the digital albums and frames in your house.

YouGotPhoto is a service that wants to solve exactly this problem. The service sends pictures to a digital frame. Ceiva has been doing this for a while but they were charging you green bucks for it. On the other hand YouGotPhoto is absolutely free to use.

Once you have an account at YouGotPhoto you can select a photo from any photo sharing site like Flickr and just send it to a digital photo frame. Its that simple.

The company is working to embed their technology into the latest generation of digital photo frames. In case they end up building a massive user base who prefer to buy photo frames with YouGotPhoto software pre-installed the company could charge license fee from the frame makers.

The service might end up being a winner, but I had a lot of desires for the user interface and design of the service.

YouGotPhoto is launched by Taiwan based UGA Digital. The company has 20 employees and was founded in 2007. UGA has raised $300,000 in seed money from Gemtek, Huveur Technologies and RDC Semiconductor and is competing with the likes of Kodak, Ceiva, Frame Channel and Ality.
