iknow thumb DEMOfall 08: iKnow is a Web 2.0 Learning Management Service iKnow, a new service launched by Tokyo based startup Cerego, is an intelligent social network that aims to help you learn in an intelligent way. The service tracks your personal learning style, habits, speed and than adjust the knowledge transfer accordingly. iKnow uses patented learning algorithms that generate personalized learning schedules for each individual that improves the absorption and recall of chunks of information.

iKnow is not just a learning aid tool, but is also a social network that allows you to collaborate with others learning the same subject matter. and share information with them. Users can also import data from sites like Youtube, Flickr, and Nico Nico Douga – a popular Japanese video sharing site. Currently iKnow is undergoing beta testing, that too, only for Japanese people trying to make their way to learn English.

Currently there are over 250,000 Japanese users studying English on iKnow. With the influx of more users the environment would become more social. In addition to this iKnow is planning to expand its system to aid in learning any type of knowledge or subject matter.

The service is not something that I would have used in my home country, but it will be really handy for people like me living abroad in foreign lands having to encounter a foreign language on a daily basis. The service is completely free to use as of now.

iKnow has also announced to open up its API to let others benefit from its technology.
