ffwd, a startup that went live at DEMOfall 08, allows you to browse through Internet video from their site which categorizes videos into channels.
The service believes that its easier to digest videos that are aggregated around a channel metaphor. Users can create their own channels or subscribe to channels created by friends or anyone else. The service also provide video discovering features that help you to see videos that are linked to the ones you are viewing or that are related to your channel.
ffwd also has a taste for personalization, once you subscribe to around half a dozen channels, the service figures out and creates a custom channel for you. With your channel created for you, the service goes on to allow you to discover videos of interest and relevance.
ffwd is also integrated with other sites and can fetch data and understand your likings from your Netflix queue, Friendfeed, LinkedIn, iLike, or your twitter feed for that matter.
The service is going into direct competition with a similar service launched at DEMO called Invision.tv. ffwd has raised Series A from DFJ in 2007.
