bizequitylogo thumb DEMOFall 08: BizEquity The Real Business Valuation Service BizEquity, a startup that launched at DEMOFall 08, lets small businesses check the value of other business in a given territory. The nifty tool allows users to search for business valuations that are based on data generated from public and industry-specific rules.

The Spring House, Pa. based company is privately funded and has a repository of 10 million estimated business valuations. You can hunt for small businesses though zip code, state or a city by entering a business name or a  category.  The site pulls out the data with BizEquity Value along with graphs and an interactive Google Map, depicting the exact location of the place and graphs.

The site displays the estimated value of all the businesses residing in the given territory. For Eg: If you are looking for the general stores in the New York City, than BizEquity will show you all the general stores in the area with an estimated BizEquity value.

Business owners can get most out of it by going through the custom valuation. You can have a detailed valuation report about your business by providing some basic financial information.

The service reminds me of Zillow, the real estate social networking service that lets homeowners check the value of their house. There was a need  of service like BizEquity to help businessmen to have a scoop of  their business value. But there is always a privacy problem with these types of services. Zillow is already regarded as an illegal service by Arizona and therefore, BizEquity is more exposed to such kind of legitimate issues.
