Cable channel Current TV is expected to layoff 60 employees. There is no official word from the company regarding the issue. Earlier there were different reports regarding the number of employees to be fired. Other than this the company has created 30 new job positions which makes the net layoff of employees to 30. Founded in 2005, the company is backed by Al Gore.
Why layoff 60 and hire 30? Wouldn’t it just be easier to only layoff 30?

Well at times the layoff are done in one department that’s more of a burden and another dept. can make use of a few extra hands. It’s like this, you don’t need a cook anymore as you have now learned how to cook but you can make use of a gardener.
