Cuil, a search engine that launched amidst much hoobla, is dying a slow but certain death. The Google Trends data of the site shows that the search startup has even fewer visitors than ReadWriteWeb, a fellow technology blog. However, at the time of its launch the site managed to garner press coverage from the likes of WSJ, NY Times and CNN and hit a milestone 3 million visitors mark.

Just too sad. Google needs a challenger in the playing field so we users can have better alternatives. Well, I guess that’s not to happen too soon. Who knows Cuil.com may bounce back. Though there are newer search engines like http://find.com that I find useful beside the big G.
