TwitterCounter.com is a new Twitter app that can be described as a clone of FeedBurner. It allows Social Networkers and Bloggers to communicate with each other and keep track of their Twitter Followers.
The site facilitates its users to embed a TwitterCounter widget on their blogs or websites by copying a HTML code.
On clicking the widget; Counter’s page of your blog with a statistical review of last week visits will be displayed. It actually provides a quick real time review of Twitter followers.
The service will be useful to mark down the site’s popularity and users can even look for anybody’s followers.
Unlike FeedBurner that displays the number of RSS readers of a blog, TwitterCounter displays the number of Twitter followers. You can go through a list of top 100 (ranked by the number of followers) and can even add your name to it.
Overall, the site can be regarded as a good startup as Twitter itself has managed to come out of its continuous downtime service. It can be used as a handy tool to attract more Twitter followers and it seems like it will be able to attract huge number of Bloggers. But services like RSS FeedBurner can give it a bitter pill to swallow. Moreover, it is mainly focusing on the number of Twitter followers but how will it deal with users having relatively little amount of followers.
