txt60 LogoWhen I read the name of the site, I thought it would be just another SMS service but I was wrong. txt60 is an audio/video conversion site which allows you to convert clips into different formats.

The converted formats can be compatible with mobile (.3gp). You don’t need to register to avail the services. You just have to browse and upload a clip or you can even give a YouTube link. Once uploaded, you will see some conversion options like resizing (video), format, video/audio quality and also the option to capture a certain moment of the clip (if you want to start conversion from the middle of the clip and stop 10 seconds earlier, you can do so). Once you convert the clip, a link will appear from where you can download the converted clip. You will also see a code which will allow you to get the clip directly to your cell phone (you just have to browse the website and write the code).

converted download linksThe supported audio formats include .wav, .mp3, .mp2, .ogg where as video formats include .avi, .mpg, .mp4, .3gp, .mov, .wmv, .flv extensions. Clips of size 100 MB can be uploaded.

conversion optionsThe service is totally free but they do offer a package for professional video hosting and web development which costs $10/month.

There are sites like keepvid which are providing YouTube downloads in .flv format (needs flv player to play this file) without any option to convert it into other formats. On txt60 you can not only download the .flv file but also convert it into other formats. The functionality of the website is great, other than that the website is a little crowded with ads which affects the look of the website. Also there is a navigation issue, you can’t navigate to your homepage (by clicking on logo of the site) easily if you’re on another page. Other than these two aspects, the website is awesome.
