ComScore ranked Ask.com as the fourth most-queried search engine. Though IAC’s Ask.com attracts most of its traffic through buying ads on Google, rather than direct access to it’s (Ask) search results. Danny Sullivan from Search Engine Land states:
It’s just a further sign to me that the future of Ask isn’t about building an audience but instead earning as much off the remaining traffic it has left.
Though in his defense, Ask.com’s Nicholas Graham states that the particular ad that stirred up this debate was an insolated incident.
