SportsVU, the Israel based company that provided hologram effects to CNN during the election campaign has now been acquired by Stats; a sports data company. There is no information on what the cost of acquisition was, but Rafat Ali assumes it to be in million of dollars. Stats can very well utilize the technology to gather additional information of various aspects of the games, like ball positioning, player movements instantly and help improve every game.
