Cluztr, the Anti Bookmarking Service that Makes Browsing a Social Experience

Cluztr is an anti bookmarking service that is trying to do what the rest of the bookmarking or social sharing services like Digg, del.icio.us are trying to do – bring to you the best and most interesting content and sites from the web.

digiidCluztr is a downloadable application that tracks the sites you are browsing, and finds others who are visiting the same or similar sites. This eliminates the need to bookmark or actively tag content, all you need to do is simply browse and Cluztr determines sites and people that relate to you and your interests. You could also link to social profiles on the various social networks.

Cluztr has also added a bunch of social features like the ability to explore and find people with similar interests, make friends, follow your friends visited sites or discover the most popular sites(cluztrs)-the ranking is generated in real time on the basis of the most actively visited sites by cluztr users. Users could also interact with others by broadcasting their linkstream (as an RSS feed), chat with people and leave messages on websites you visit, and share links with your friends. Users could also share and discover recommendations about new sites, and meet people on the same site.

Cluztr is available for firefox and flock at the moment, but I hope the IE plugin would be made available soon for the rest of the world that does not already use firefox. Cluztr is really a nice and slick plugin that has made social bookmarking even more seamless by eliminating bookmarking.

Reko is a similar service, do check it out as well.
