ClickPass, a startup that has enabled the use of multiple accounts with a single set of credentials has recently joined hands to support additional third parties. This will surely provide a great flexibility in the universal login mechanism. The support for additional parties will enable Users to use their Hotmail, Yahoo, Google and Facebook passwords on any site that has ClickPass authentication System.
The new supported system is quite flexible and the user does not need any kind of
accounts or efforts to use it. The sites that have been supported by ClickPass displays a small bar containing logos of above mentioned companies under their login box. Users only have to choose their desired service and logged in to it by typing in a desired nickname(display name). There is not even need of making a ClickPass account, thus the service with its features clearly depicts the true meaning of OpenID.
According to Peter Nixey, the CEO of ClickPass, the service was introduced with a vision of providing higher level of freedom and authentication to its users.
ClickPass was built to make life simpler and more secure.
And the integration of mighty companies like Yahoo and Google would surely help ClickPass to broaden its vision and features. But the number of supported sites are still fewer in number, though the company is expected to see a swift grow in the number of sites in the next few days as Nixey claims that it is quite easy to amend an OpenID system in the sites. The implementation of OpenID protocol with the ClickPass System is the only thing developers have to do.
