It was learnt that Cisco plans to unveil a “stream of acquisitions” in the coming few days, as part of an effort to revive the company’s image as a consumer electronics brand, the focus will be mainly on video. This was stated by chief exec John Chambers; he also stated:
Video is the key application that I focus on.
It isn’t just data categories or voice categories. We see it in visual as well.
You will see a steady stream of product announcements, of partnership announcements and acquisition announcements.
CES 2009, will see a lot of companies taking on the initiative of launching upgrades and new products, thereby attracting more attention through the event.
