Somehow I am not at all surprised reading that many of Google properties have been banned in China. Those include Google Apps, Gmail, Google Reader and the primary search engine itself. The reason? Well no obvious one and it appears more like a routine that China has followed over the past and many other services including Twitter, Facebook, Plurk to name just a few. While this ban has been lifted from a few of the services for now, many still remain under it. Can anyone give us the latest update on this?

I have some friends in several places in China. We are communicating quite often through Gmail, Gtalk and so on, and I didn’t notice any problem…
Same for Facebook and Twitter.
They might be using a VPN, so I’ll ask them and keep you guys posted!
Cheers,

Everything works fine, these days. Google, Gmail, Gtalk, Twitter, Facebook, nothing is banned.
