Seeing the decline in business, TiVo and Best Buy are teaming up to help each other stand up in troubled times. In order to do so Best Buy will turn to heavily promoting TiVo’s DVRs and in return Tivo is going to do the same with its music service, Napster. TiVo will make it available to its subscriber and at the same time promoting numerous other products from Best Buy via a new DVR. The financial aspects of the deal remain undisclosed and we hope this leveraging the existing users of each turn out for the two in the long run.

Just another marketing deal.
Best Buy gets a proprietary “in” to the largest set top manufacturer and TiVo gets some support from the largest CE retailer.
What’s wrong with this picture?
I don’t see the TiVo benefit as large enough to forclose TiVo’s other marketing opportunities.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Justice was interested.
