After coming under tight scrutiny of selling out higher search ranking to unlicensed medical services, Baidu has decided to overhaul its operations. This brought down China’s search leader stocks down as people showed anger over its irresponsibility. Baidu’s CEO, Robin Li promised action and stated that action against those responsible will face action:
We have removed the key words of all four clients mentioned in the report and have begun to double-check the licenses of all other hospitals and pharmacies on our client list……Baidu employees who are found to have been involved in the scandal will be penalized…We have already fired people who helped fabricate documents for unlicensed suppliers.
