FriendsAbroad, an online language community startup head on towards shut down and 500,000 of its users being encouraged to join another key language learning service. The reason being its acquisition by the German based service, Babbel. The sum it has been acquired for remains unknown but according to reports the deal has been made in cash. The reason for this acquisition given by Markus White is simply that Babbel offers courses to its users that appeal to those using FriendsAbroad.
