Avego – the RideSharing App Aims to Cut Green House Emissions by 73.6 million tons by 2020

Bilal Hameed

Avego, an iPhone ridesharing app from Mapflow, aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 73.6 million tons per annum, which is equivalent to 146 billion less miles driven each year. But not so quick, this all depends on the fact that Avego manages to have a user base of 20 million, which they project to achieve by 2020, so all the figures are based on the userbase number.

Avego tracks users driving habits via GPS enabled iPhones and than match them with people who are looking for a ride by suggesting a place where both can meet easily – call it match.com for the riders.
