Syncplicity, a startup that synchronizes the files through out multiple devices, has raised an amount of $2.35 million in the Series A. The amount was raised from True Ventures along with other unknown private investors. Since the launch of the startup, a number of devices and services support has been added which includes an iPhone application and incorporation with online office software from Zoho.

Search engine Yamli has launched the iGoogle gadget through which users can use the engine’s Arabic translation technology from their Google homepage. The search engine’s translation technology converts the Arabic words written in English into Arabic text and lets you search the web. The best thing about it is that it all is done in a real time. Gaming giant Electronic Arts is said to layoff 6% of its employees in line with the on going financial crisis. The company lost $0.97 per share in the second quarter but had a 40% sales increase. Overall the company lost $310 million in the second quarter. The layoffs will save the company $50 million per year but the restructuring charges next year will cost around $37 million. According to the company’s CEO, John Riccitiello:

The current user base of the company is 170,000,000 and is increasing with a rate of 14,000 users per month.

Google has released the beta version 3 of its browser, Chrome. The latest release contains better security and enhanced performance. The online health solution provider, Diet.com, has announced its partnership with the online instructional video site, Graspr. According to the deal, the later will distribute original video content of the prior on its site and to its network that contains 2,000 partners. MYOB, an Australian financial software and service company, has got a takeover offer of 487.2 million AUD ($329M U.S.) from private equity group Archer Capital. Earlier this year, the group’s offer of $1.90 AUD per share was rejected, now the group is offering $1.15 AUD per share. MYOB’s shareholders have given their support for the takeover, but the final decision is yet to be made by the company’s board. The company is spread to seven countries.
