According to IFPI’s Digital Music Report 2009, only 5% music downloads in 2008 were legal which means that 95% of the digital music downloads were illegal. The digital music downloads last year earned $3.7 billion. This shows that a huge amount is not being paid to the rightful owner. According to the report:

The round was led by Madrona Venture Group and was participated by the company’s executive chairman Brent Frei. The site contains over 65,000 users in more than 30 countries.
