We all know how much piracy and copyright issues matter today. And to save itself again from a lethal lawsuit, this morning, YouTube deleted audio tracks that had not been authorized by all copyright holders from many videos using its audio fingerprinting technology. Many YouTuber’s are outraged about this new policy.

I personally believe that it would make a lot more sense for the music industry to allow YouTube users to use copyrighted sounds tracks on their homemade videos (using some sort of license), while the record labels (or the artists) could get a share of the advertising revenue, thus creating a win-win sitaution for both users and artists.

IBM or The Big Blue is ought to praised, after they just announced that it is the first company ever to earn more than 4,000 U.S. patents in a single year. WOW! That’s more than Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, Apple, EMC, Accenture, and Google combined.

Patents are not much taken seriously by the consumer side but definitely mean a lot on the manufacturing side, and 16th year in a row, IBM must be hiring some smart brains.

The app is quite sleek in its look and also that you could easily find stations without even disrupting the current song being played or even search out for genres. But the most unique feature I liked was the “Resume Play” feature, enabling you to continue the song that you were listening to when the app was closed. Google has quietly come out with a preview or experimental search enabling MAC users to search outside their browsers, meaning a desktop search on its Official MAC blog

The application is similar to that for the iPhone except for the part of voice search containing new elements of contextual search, actions and extensibility. The Google Quick Search Box is on its Google Code page for your download.
