This Christmas week brought goodies for Apple as it say it’s browser market shot up 36%. This was released by a report from Net Applications. This doesn’t actually translate to sales going up, on the other hand it shows how many people actually bought a new iPhone in late December or around Christmas.

A revised plan for a free wireless broadband service has been put forward by Kevin Martin, the chairman of Federal Communications Commission. This version of the plan removes the controversial porn filtering requirement – and has yet to get acknowledgment from four other members of the board. Martin states:

The launch of a second authority-based Twitter search engine comes through. Twithority developed by Tsavo, works faster in returning results than it’s predecessor: Daymix (also launched by Tsavo). Twithority works by showing highest ranking users first, as well as showing most recent ones first, from the top 10,000 Twitter users. So if you feel the urge to check out who’s rolling on top, you know where to look.
Twitter is set to release an update for its private message feature today. DMs will now be sent as D + username + message or DM + username + message. This however will spoil the fun for DMFail fans – a site which accumulates messages (DM) accidentally sent by people and makes them public.
