We had already reported about the Android surpassing the market share of Apple iOS’ based iPhone in the US market alone. I have stated always that a massive reason for Android’s explosive growth has been the mobile OS being open source. The second being its immediate powering up of numerous smartphone devices from numerous manufacturers which include HTC, Samsung, Motorola and Nokia. But the platform itself is powerful enough and developers are already populating the Android Market place with loads of apps. It already has over 70,000 apps, which is of course a third of Apple’s 225,000 apps in the App Store.

Google just released its financial earnings for the third quarter and the results are remarkable. The earning have jumped up by over 23 percent to around $7.3 Billion with the net income rising to $2.2 Billion. The quarter to quarter growth stood at 7% with the share price climbing to $7.4.
From the financial summary, the Q3 shows strong gains over what the revenue was in the same quarter in 2009. The net income grew from $1.64 Billion in 2009 to $2.17 Billion in the current. The primary source of revenue demographically was the US where Google registered close to 50% of its total revenue, amassing $3,517 million compared to $2,929 Million from the rest of the world, excluding the United Kingdom where it generated $840 Million.
It’s only been days when Microsoft announced the release of its anticipated Windows Phone 7 platform for mobile devices and we already have some apps doing great. Well the top app in the list is quite a surprise as I always had a perception of Windows Phone users to be tasteful. Wrong I was as their sense of smell is far superior and one that needs continuous feed. I am talking about the Fart Apps that surprisingly top the Paid Apps on the Windows Phone 7 app store.
I guess it’s something to do with every smartphone after starting off with their advent on the iPhone and the App Store. And just like they were download like hot commodities, the fart apps have won download hits from Windows Phone 7 users. And here’s a bigger surprise; People are actually paying for one, the Farting Dino. Wow, I mean I too downloaded a couple of those on my HTC Desire on Android but those were for free and had a short span. But paying? There’s got to be something great about this.
I had absolutely nothing more important to be jubilant about when I heard the rumors of the iPhone 5 coming on Verizon Wireless. But this latest development is equally important and surprising. Apple has just announced that it will have iPad made available on the Verizon Wireless stores as well those of AT&T in the US from October 28.
The press release stated that the iPad will be available across the 2,000 Verizon Wireless Stores across the US and will have three offerings. All of these will include the iPad Wi-Fi model as well as the Verizon MiFi 2200 Mobile Hotspot. The details along with pricing are:
If there is something remotely useful available for Free make sure you grab one. That’s what I believe in, especially when it comes to gadgets, books and useful software in particular. I bet many others think the same and if you do head over to PDFTiger and download the $39.95 worth of software for Free.
Much as I am beginning to love writing about the tips and how to’s on Apple about Jailbreak with various tools I equally enjoy Steve Job’s brainchild caught up in controversy. We talked extensively about the Antennagate and how low Jobs stooped dealing with the issue. The genius of the decade wasn’t really out of the Antennagate when bam comes another. This time it’s about the shattering glass of the iPhone 4.
I understand that almost everything about thing associated to jailbreaking the iPhone, IPod Touch and the iPad has been about Windows. Be it the timely release of the Limera1n jailbreak Tool or the GreenPoisOn release recently. Our friends have kept a vigilant eye on the Chronic Dev Team for something about Mac users. Good news is that the users should be ready to embrace PwnageTool 4.1 for iOS 4.1 devices. And it’s coming this Sunday.
As per reports, this would jailbreak iPhone 4 as well as Apple TV 2G. Just like GreenPoisOn’s current release, which was based on the Limera1n exploit, the PwnageTool will based on this as well. As stated earlier, this would readily enable you to jailbreak your iPhone 4 on the iOS 4.1. However this wouldn’t alter the baseband of your device.
We almost got carried away with the sudden entry of Geohot and his Limera1n jailbreak Tool on Saturday and the availability of download it on Sunday, October 10 when the GreenPoisOn was scheduled to release. What we missed out to report was that the SHAtter exploit was postponed. The reason was obvious enough as there wasn’t really a point to release this jailbreak tool when it was only meant for the fourth generation of Apple devices. The Limera1n on the other hand was already available to jailbreak almost all of these.
It has been a day since the release of the Limera1n Jailbreak Tool from Geohot and its already making news. From whatever stats I have on my blog, it appears people have been searching for this tool like crazy. Upon the release we shared a short Step by Step Guide on How To Jailbreak Your iPhone 4 And 3GS With Limera1n and today we thought of sharing similar steps for jailbreaking your iPad on iOS 3.2.2 using Limera1n.
