image thumb3 As If Fan Pages And Groups Weren’t Enough, Facebook Launches Community Pages

When you talk about confusion, there is a lot you can find on Facebook. There already exist one with the Groups and Fan Pages on the social network and now we are spooned another one; Community Pages. So what is this exactly? A cross of Groups [Communities] and fan Pages? Not exactly, but the community pages are more like an update which your fan page would go through once the population on it gets too high.

Sounds quite justified, I mean if your fan page gets over a few thousand fans, the task of administering it gets quite tough. The basic objective is to keep brands/individuals in charge of their original pages while the growing number of fans can be branched to these community pages. Here, the users can freely share their passion for the brand or product ad represent their side of the brand while the official continues to be focused only the celebrities, product or company.

So what does this imply? Nothing more than putting it simply that you will now have official fanpages, groups of fans and a plethora of unofficial communities for one brand/product that is based on user opinions. If you are one of those folks who would love to have a community of their own, please visit the link here.

What’s your take on this move from Facebook? Needed or is it just to create more confusion?
