Guy Kawasaki is conducting a poll asking his readers, if they would pay for the service and if yes how much and to my utter surprise almost 50% of the respondents have said that they are willing to pay atleast $5/month or more. I however would not be willing to pay a pence, specially in times like these. So as far as I am concerned “Kiss my Ass”

Hmm that’s interesting.
As much as I am attached to Twitter, I wouldn’t be willing to pay for it either. If it was to become a fee-based service, the user pool would consist only of those (mostly annoying) entities that use it for an advertising/marketing tool and it would lose its “social” aspect, and thus its appeal, altogether.

huh? why would I want to pay just to use twitter? should we pay to use gmail or meebo too in the future? I agree with Lucy, if you need to pay for a service, then the community will shrink somehow and those who stay in there tend to believe only what they say in the community. I think that’s the reason we have more and more open source communities so that we can all share our views without worrying so much about paying anything apart from our broadband service…right?
