YouArchive. It is a new service that lets users archive all their SMS messages both the one’s that they sent and the ones that they received for their lifetime. The messages are stored in a cloud and can be retrieved whenever you desire. In a way this service, would make SMS messages similar to emails and you can now use these 160 characters to cherish memories later in time, or infringe someone on the basis of what he messaged you couple of years back.
The messages are stored in a safe and encrypted database and is absolutely free to use. In addition to this, they have also created a free and open source (see project page on Google Code) iTextUploader app that lets you upload all your messages to the YouArchive. It database. The uploader is native to iPhone and will enable you to upload your data right from your iPhone so you don’t have to wait till you get to your PC.
Currently the service is being used by 3,344 users, who have uploaded around 2 million messages to YouArchive.It. The service has the potential to go viral and become huge quickly. All the need to do is to create java and symbian based versions of the iTextUploader app and here you go, instant access to a market of more than 1 billion users.
