jobs mysteriousproduct1 thumb Apple’s Mystery Product? A myth or a reality (to be)?

We reported Apple’s quarterly reports today and there was something mysterious about the low expectations for the upcoming quarter. Almost immediately after the reports banged up competitors there was a slump in stock price by about 10%, which took a clean $15 billion chump off Apple’s market share. And with the low expectations, surprising isn’t it that if a company enjoys a reputation of hitting successful quarters would deem so low and put up a weak guidance?

Of course there was an answer as always; it somehow made even more questions spring up in our minds, very intriguing answers and more shadows left to lurk. Apple’s CFO, Peter Oppenheimer along with many of the top Apple officials kept referring to a mysterious something; perhaps a transition of a product or something totally new. Not much intriguing? Well here is the add-up; the moment one of them hinted at this ‘mystery Apple’ they jumped over to saying ‘we can’t discuss it today.”

Oddly enough, Apple is not known for shouting off its new products until the time is right and this one somehow was mentioned more times than anything else so far ( the only thing that beat this was breathing I guess). Nevertheless; this new ‘product to be’ has become a reason for the slump in stock prices immediately after the quarterly report.

There have been speculations from various circles about what this new product could be? AppleTV? Apple declined this calling it to be a hobby and nothing serious enough to presently work upon. And others thought of it to be a notebook with a newer design and processors. But then isn’t it too obvious that such a thing is bound to happen with time? As introducing speed, sleek design, loaded and many a things readily embedded to give users a one-in-all hardware? So what could this new product be?

Most probably Apple won’t waste time and loose lose money by talking about a better notebook, but an amalgamation of an iPhone and a notebook has a very high probability. A notebook that has no need for peripherals like mouse, keyboard etc, a total touch-screen version of a laptop as many have speculated by many around.

However one thing has been thought quite seriously is that the new product has to be ultra cheap. Why? Apple’s representatives said so; stating that the new product hurt its overall profit margin. The hardening of this idea could turn out to be pretty expensive of course and it has already wiped quite a lot of bucks already.
