apple logo dec07 Apple Spent $1.1 billion on Research and had 32,000 full timers in 2008Apple has significantly increased its employee head count and its R&D budget in 2008, according to its annual report for the fiscal year 2008. At the end of 2008, Apple has 32,000 full-time equivalent employees and an additional 3,100 temporary equivalent employees and contractors up from 21,600 full-time employees, and 2,100 temporary employees a year ago.

In addition to this the company has also significantly increased its R&D budget which now stands at $1.1 billion, a 41% increase compared to $782 million in 2007.
