Apple is having big problems with Mobile Me, apparently attempts to reach the site by going directly to me.com were unsuccessful and returned a 404 HTTP error response and a white screen with a single text message on it: “Not Found: Resource does not exist.”, according to uptime monitoring firm Pingdom. Pingdom also provided further details about the issue:

Accessing me.com/mail worked, but anyone typing in www.me.com or me.com got the error page mentioned above and was not redirected to the login page (which is what is supposed to happen).

According to our monitoring the problem lasted almost seven hours. It started at 08:29 a.m. CET on November 3 and wasn’t resolved until 3:25 p.m. CET (02:29 a.m. – 9:25 a.m. US EST).

Since this was mostly night time in the US, the problem was not as noticeable there, but in Europe the problem spanned most of the work day and is sure to have caused some confusion among the Mobile Me users.
