Apple seems to be doing quite well among one certain category of population, yes you guessed it right, teenagers have been queuing up and keeping Apple stores busy, as the iPod and iPhone products are the craze of the current generation. And why not, they’re providing quality products, though at not so great prices.

A biannual survey of purchasing habits (focused at teenagers) of cell phones & music players, by Piper Jaffray shows that 84 percent of 769 teenagers own an iPod. This shows an increase of 2 percent from last year. This would have to do with, perhaps, Apple lowering its costs on the iPhone (iPhone 3G) and iPod as well, allowing the market to absorb the new offer and up product sales.

Although only 8 percent of those teenagers own an iPhone, but that’s up 6 percent from what was surveyed this spring, before iPhone 3G’s release. That means the sales are sure to boost in the upcoming months, as more and more teenagers resolve to buy the phone. Of course then the thought comes to mind whether the $199 monthly fee associated with iPhone would be affordable for the parents’ wallets.

The luxury of owning the high priced ‘brand’ in economic crisis wouldn’t be a smart move. And where these gadgets have souring popularity, Apple Macs are trendy among college students.
