With its innovative ideas that change how people communicate and entertain using Apple, the people there are planning to get into chip manufacturing as well. Apple will be building its own chipset along with that it has also hired a team to build mobile chips. This is going to be  a lot more advantageous for Apple given that it has the possibility to control the entire IC, instead of having someone from the outside to do it. Why advantageous? This would help Apple optimize power control as well, given that the iPhone (for one) has quite some issues with its battery life.
