There are reports (rumors) that Apple is trying its hands at doing eyeing at doing something about a search engine. Apple currently uses Google for the search purposes in Safari both the desktop version and that for the iPhone and iPod. The idea might sound pretty reasonable given Safari’s 7% market share but it there hasn’t been any action taken on Apple’s part to support such a rumor; there has been no hiring in this regard.

What Apple may be looking forward to is to introduce a more interactive that’s more Apple-ish and more visual. Chances are the rumor won’t turn out to be true as Apple is known to focus more on what it’s good at. But still, if this rumor has one in a billionth part truth in it, we can expect anything.
