The French competition agency has ruled out the alliance of Apple and Orange as illegal. The ruling came in after 13 months of the five year exclusive deal between the two companies. This could have an indirect affect through out the Europe. The agency also criticized the alliance for having an immediate and severe effect on the French mobile market on the whole by pioneering a new flavor of rigidity in a sector that already lacks competition. Though the ban is temporary, it will let other carriers in France to distribute the iPhone 3G in time for the Christmas holidays.
