Apple grabs the second spot of the most popular smartphone vendor, taking RIM’s place. A research firm, Canalys reports that Apple’s iPhone took the market by storm and continues to maintain its winning streak (after the third quarter) with a market share of 17.3 percent, whereas RIM stand at 15.2 percent. Windows Mobile stands a distance back, at 13.6 percent. The Nokia’s Sybian based phones however need not worry since they hold a big chunk: 46.6 percent share of the market.
