aniBoom is to announce pretty soon its series B round of financing worth $10 million, as has been reported. The round is said to have been led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, though there has been no confirmation whatsoever on behalf of the company.with suspicion in the air it is expected the announcement would be made by Monday.
aniBoom is an Israeli based animation site that had previously raised $4.5 million in February, 2007. The site aims at being the YouTube of animations and for that purpose provides a distribution platform for both pro and part-pro animators to bring forward their animations. It co produces animations series by drawing out creations from the talent pool into series with its contributors who are in turn paid for their work. The site is competed by another similar service namely MyToons.
