The sales of Google’s G1 Android phone are going strong and HTC, the Taiwanese company manufacturing these devices expect to ship around 1 million devices by the end of this year, according to Digitimes. This is one of the reason for the current problems being faced by incumbents like Palm, which would be cutting around 1,000 jobs amid slowing sales. Silicon Alley Insider is reporting that HTC has spent around $5 million to buy a US based cell phone design company to come up with innovative and exciting designs for future devices.
