Ngmoco, a games publisher and creator for the iPhone raises $5.6 million in Series A funding. The funding round was supported by a premier venture capital firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), along with Maples Investments contribution.
Ngmoco is a newly incubated company that is mainly designed to develop some of the best iPhone games and focus on enhancing the entertainment experience.
Neil Young, Ngmoco CEO, has praised Company’s Investors and has regarded them as a key supporters for Ngmoco development.
With Bing, Kleiner Perkins and Maples Investments, we have great partners who share our passion to create a new type of publisher and radically reshape the mobile games industry.
While Bing Gordon, KPCB partner and former chief creative officer, Electronic Arts, who is expecting a seat in the Ngmoco board, said that it is a company with high caliber and is efficient enough to explore new heights of success in the game world.
Apple’s iPhone has the potential to be one of the best portable gaming platforms ever created, After a decade of working closely with Neil on category-defining games, I believe ngmoco has the potential to produce killer apps that will help define this new device.
It is worth mentioning that KPCB has launched an iFund, few months ago, to serve as an investment intuitive that will fund apps and services dedicated for Apple iPhone and iPod touch. The iFund will also help it in extending mobile computing.
Ngmoco’s funding round will help the company to robust its iPhone games building techniques and will serve as a catalyst to improve collaboration with the world’s best game makers.
