Its been almost an year since AmazonMP3 started selling digital music from the big music labels. Some thought it to be the iTunes killer or competitor but they were wrong. The big label partners of Amazon includes Warner Music Group, EMI Music Group, Sony and Universal Music Group. Though there are no official sales numbers released from Amazon or its label partners, it is thought that the total digital music market share of the company is 5% to 10% which is way behind Apple’s 70%. In the last quarter Amazon earned almost $4.3 billion in sales, so they have some money to spare but it is very unlikely for them to give Apple tough time.
