amazonlogo Amazon Unleashes the ‘Video Streaming Service’Amazon has released their video streaming service, ‘Amazon Video on Demand’. The newly released service is not going to be the best in the market but it is probably going to give iTunes video store a tough time.

Like others, Amazon Video on Demand will also be available for rental purposes and it will cost around $3 to $4 and movie purchases for $10 to $15. TV episodes are usually available for $2. More than that TV episodes are also offered by the service.

Moreover Amazon also provides NBC shows, which are not available on iTunes. Hulu also provides some of these episodes for free but they also lack commercials.

Right now full downloads for offline viewing are only available for Windows PCs and Tivo but not on Macs or Apple TVs. Also Apple gadgets such as iPods and iPhones can’t still play portable movies. These are some of the negatives of the service.

What this service is going to be in the future, that is something which nobody can say right now but the current stuff is not going to bring any kind of online video revolution. There is still a lot more which can be done with the service in order to generate more revenue.

However this upgrade from Unbox is not that bad either and you should give it a try.
