How do you feel when you find something that is legally yours missing? I will be angry, to put it simply and I bet many Kindle owners were too when they found George Orwell’s 1984 and Animal Farm missing from their devices. Amazon deleted copies of those books from users’ Kindle library, it wasn’t any legal issue but simply that the publisher didn’t want to put those books as Kindle editions. However Amazon has made it clear that in future it will not resort to remotely deleting the copies on their own. This raises a question about ownership rights and how ownership varies between the two.
