Amazon is pretty serious about spreading the word Kindle, far and wide into the tech world a sit launched Kindle app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This would give the users of each devices access to 240,000 ebooks that are currently on sale on Amazon. I guess the idea behind the move is not only to become a leading manufacturer of ebook readers, but also to become the sole retailer of electronic books. Ian Freed, VP Amazon stated:
We think the iPhone can be a great companion device for customers who are caught without their Kindle.
While I think this will be a good move, but iPhone and other such devices are definitely not going to take over the position dedicated book readers like Kindle.
