One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) association has just announced a renewed drive to allow people to get their hands on the devices by offering a staggering “Give 1 Get 1” free offer. You could buy a laptop for $399 and as a result of this the association will donate another laptop to a child in the developing country. The drive is launched in association with Amazon, which will be taking orders for the XO laptops starting Monday and would ship them to you within 30 days.
OLPC founder and Chairman Nicholas Negroponte said in a statement:
The phenomenal success of last year’s Give 1 Get 1 program created tremendous demand from both the public who wanted to give more and from countries that saw an opportunity to attack poverty through education
