Amazon acquires a leading online fabric store, Fabric .com

amazonfabric logo Fabric.com, a site with its motto �?the place to go when you sew�? has been acquired by an Internet tycoon- Amazon. The site is yet another addition in the long listed Amazon’s acquired companies.

Founded in 1999, Fabric.com is a leading online fabric store that offers fabrics, patterns, sewing tool and accessories. It offers inclusive range of fabrics in major fabrics categories, including, Apparel , Quilting and Home Decor. Based on its quality and customer satisfaction strategy, the company has gained a wide number of loyal and satisfied sewing enthusiasts and admirers.

Chris Nielsen, VP of  the Amazon.com Home & Garden store, praised the emerging company and admired its excellent service for the sewing and crafting enthusiasts. About the acquisition of Fabric.com he said,

"Over the years, we’ve seen a growing interest in this segment from our customers. Our acquisition of Fabric.com will allow us to offer a greater variety of fabrics and accessories to crafting customers."

While Stephen Friedman, CEO of Fabric.com seems to be equally happy as he hopes that the acquisition will help his company to broaden its customer oriented sewing business,

He further added,

Amazon, being a customer centric company has Earth’s biggest Selection and it offers millions of items in different categories. No doubt, it will provide a better room for Fabric.com to grow and expand.
