News has been circulated that Adobe has plans to make it Flash a platform rather than just a  plug-in for the web. Adobe will make the big announcement in its Adobe Max 2008.

Now just as Microsoft is giving developers the key to rich internet applications creation,via Expression Blend and Silvelight, Adobe is coming closer to compete giving developers and designers greater flexibility to engineer beautiful and architecturally strong apps.

Adobe will release Adobe Flash Catalyst which enables designers to create RIA’s without code. The company also plans to unveil beta version of Flex Builder this week.
